Stripped threads on float chamber

Yesterday, I was reinstalling my carbs after cleaning and rebuild. In the process, I cross threaded the banjo bolt into the top of a float chamber. I would like to tap it out but the threads are unique. I think they are BSP or BSF, not SAE. The banjo bolt is 5/8” in diameter, and has 1/2” of threads on it. I counted 9 ridges in that half inch. So, I am guessing the bolt is a 5/8-18. Can anyone confirm this before I buy the wrong tap and destroy the top of the float chamber?
