AHCA CLASSES & DESIGNATORS

When planning awards, it’s best to have a generic designation of GYMKHANA 1st in class, 2nd
in class, etc. That way you don’t have to make x number of trophies in case someone shows
up in a certain class. There is no need to put MENS or LADIES on the trophy either. The
winners know what they drove and what gender they are. It is your choice how deep to go in
certain classes and you should have a good feel from how deep to go in a particular class by
looking at previous events.

The classes are as follows…
1. FASTEST TIME OF DAY - fastest overall time regardless of class. You may want to do a
slightly larger trophy than the rest for this, but at least an award labeled FASTEST TIME OF
DAY.
2. PREMIER (MENS)- These are heavily modified cars. Supercharged, turbocharged or nitrous
injected cars with an original Austin Healey motor or heavily modified cars most likely race
cars not driven on the street.
3. PREMIER (LADIES)
4. BIG HEALEY STOCK EARLY (MENS) - this covers all 100’s and the early 100-6 BN4 with
the 4 port head and smaller engine.
5. BIG HEALEY STOCK EARLY (LADIES)
6. BIG HEALEY MODIFIED* EARLY (MENS -
7. BIG HEALEY MODIFIED* EARLY (LADIES)
8. BIG HEALEY STOCK LATE (MENS) - This covers late 100-6 and all 3000’s. All big healeys
with the larger engine.
9. BIG HEALEY STOCK LATE (LADIES)
10. BIG HEALEY MODIFIED* LATE (MENS)
11. BIG HEALEY MODIFIED* LATE (LADIES)
12. SPRITE STOCK 948 (MENS) - This includes all 948 powered Sprites which are not modified
regardless of body
13. SPRITE STOCK 948 (LADIES)
14. SPRITE MODIFIED* 948 (MENS)
15. SPRITE MODIFIED* 948 (LADIES)
16. SPRITE STOCK 1098/1275 (MENS) - This includes all 1098/1275 powered Sprites which
are not modified regardless of body. EX: a Bugeye with a 1275 that is a fairly stock 1275.
17. SPRITE STOCK 1098/1275 (LADIES)
18. SPRITE MODIFIED* 1098/1275 (MENS)
19. SPRITE MODIFIED* 1098/1275 (LADIES)
20. JENSEN HEALEY STOCK (MENS)
21. JENSEN HEALEY STOCK (LADIES)
22. JENSEN HEALEY MODIFIED* (MENS)
23. JENSEN HEALEY MODIFIED* (LADIES)
24. NASTY BOYS (MENS) - any Healey with a non Austin Healey motor. If the car contains an
Austin Healey motor, but is not the one that would have come stock in that car, it should be
placed in the class appropriate for that motor. EX: An early 100-6 with a late 100-6 motor
would be placed in the appropriate BIG HEALEY LATE class, not NASTY BOYS.
25. NASTY BOYS (LADIES)

*STOCK VS. MODIFIED - This is not looking for concourse stock. It is legal to have things that
came on an earlier or later year of the same model. For example, disc brakes, different master
cylinders, a sway bar the same size as fitted to a later year, tri-carbs, or sizes of carbs from
later years would all be STOCK class. MODIFICATIONS would include different or larger carbs,
larger sway bars, rear sway bars, modified engines (cam, higher compression, ported head
etc), larger tires, LSD, aftermarket head, EFI, headers, ETC. If the car only has one of these
modifications, it can still be considered stock. If it has 2-3, it’s up to the people running the
event to determine if they are close enough to stock. Most cars with 3 modifications should be
considered modified and any car with more that 3 modifications is modified.
