I wanted to be a “Driver” car —not a “Show” car.
My Heritage Trust Certificate #2024/3274 says that I, AH3000 Mark lll BJ8, was despatched from England on January 19, 1966 to the USA. I landed in Yakima , Washington and have been a resident all this time in the dry air of Central Washington. I have had 3 driving buddies in my life. They have adored me and treated me to regular mechanical checkups; paid attention to my interior; and, kept me immaculate body-wise. I logged 95,692 miles with my first 2 buddies. I met my current driving buddy,Rick, in 1988. He had a plan —drive me between the months of April and October and then have me rest and relax during the winter months (as a result, I have not been exposed to snow-melting substances). During this time we have logged 56,878 miles driving the back roads on the east side of the Cascade Mountain Range—from Canada to Oregon through orchards, rolling hills, and forests. On my 50th birthday I did , however, treat Rick and Linda to a trip of a life time—driving down the Pacific Coast Highway from Washington, to Monterey Bay, California
(the trip was a feature story in the March-April 2017 edition of Healey Magazine). Rick is not a mechanic, so, I’m looked after by Jim & Rockie at British Central (509-248-8260) I am like family to them (a complete medical record is available). I’m not a “build-from-ground-up” specimen. I’m 90ish% original. I lost my British Racing Green coat early in my life and converted into a lush Pale Ivory White; I have a new black fabric top; relatively new black leather seat covers; and, 5 new-ish chrome spoked wheels. Rick is in his 80’s and believes I deserve to match-up with someone younger who “appreciates how great of a driving experience I can be”( his words, not mine). I am sad to move on; but I understand. I know I have many years and miles still in me and I really want to bring joy to a new driving buddy.
$45,000.
