1967 Austin Healey 3000 MK III BJ8
Due to unfortunate circumstances my beautiful 1967 Austin Healey 3000 MKIII BJ8 has become a project car. This car was always an excellent driver, very good mechanically , nice paint and body and well maintained. The main photo in the ad was taken at a car show before the decision was made to restore the car. There were some paint imperfections so I decided to have the car stripped down to bare metal and repaint it.
I contracted with a man who had his own shop and was familiar with Healey's. Unfortunately this turned out to be one of those restoration horror stories. He worked on the car on and off jumping to different projects over a period of 6 years, and when he finally started to make headway he died. At that point the car was about 85% done and I moved the car from his shop back to my garage.

Current Status of Car

Currently, 85% of car is finished. Most of the car is painted except for the front shroud which is currently in epoxy primer.
The car was painted using a 2 stage base coat, clear coat system. Most of the car was completed with the base color and clear top coat. The front shroud need to be painted and cleared. There is enough paint left from the job to complete it. The engine bay was painted and cleared and the engine painted as well as seen in the photos.
He didn’t touch any mechanicals, the car was a well running and driving one. The dash as seen in the photos is in very good condition.
I have all trim parts. About 8 years ago I purchased a complete interior package from BAS they are the premium interior supplier for British cars. I also purchased a cotton top and boot from BAS. The total was about $10,000.
I also have a new trunk liner kit, extra new cotton top.
The tires are very good. I purchased new Michelin tires from Coker Tire about 7 years ago and they have about 200 miles of use on them.
Any missing parts are small ones including some fasteners, screws, side spears, door handles, 4 amber lights and trunk hardware.
I’m looking to get $25000 OBO for this car. Let's get the conversation started and find a new home for it.
Car is sold as is with no warranty.
The car is located in Apopka, Fl
